The Next Phase for Calif. Digital Textbooks
The California Learning Resource Network, which reviews the textbooks submitted for the digital textbook initiative in that state, has announced Phase 2 of the project, which opens textbook submissions up to history and social studies texts, in addition to science and math. The parameters for Phase 2 are outlined here. If you're interested to know what the results of the first phase of the initiative were, check out the Free Digital Textbook Initiative Report.
Brian Bridges, the director of the California Learning Resource Network, participated in a chat on edweek.org a few weeks ago, where he talked about the review process that the digital textbooks go through, as well as what the future of digital textbooks may look like.
