A new report from the Center for Digital Education explores the best practices for making digital learning work and examines the evolving roles teachers and administrators play in blended learning environments.

The 56-page “Blended & Virtual Learning Frontier” report is available in PDF format on the center’s website. Readers must register on the site to download the free document.

The Center for Digital Education (formerly Converge Magazine) covers trends in the ed-tech world and publishes special reports on education technology every quarter of the year. This quarter’s report examines the approaches districts are taking to put virtual education programs in place as well as the roadblocks to making that happen. virtual learning, which Leilani Cauthen,
vice president of the Center for Digital Education, said could help shed light on the emerging education practice.

“The Center for Digital Education sees that schools everywhere are grappling with the rather vast new frontier of blended and virtual learning,” said Leilani Cauthen,
vice president of the Center for Digital Education, in a letter to readers. “As such, we wanted to start defining the territory. This Special Report describes the various terms in blended and virtual learning, and gives education leaders more than a few ideas of what their peers are already doing in this new frontier.”

Education Week published a similar report earlier this school year that addressed blended learning issues. You can find that report here.
