Updates on D.C. and Central Falls

My colleague Steve Sawchuk has some news up you should check out on the Teacher Beat blog about the latest chapters with the D.C. teacher contract and the Central Falls, R.I. teacher firings.

Things are far from happy in either place right now. Speaking of Rhode Island, Deborah Gist, the state's ed commissioner (who held the same job in D.C.), was named one of the Time 100 for this year. You can read up on her in a guest post I did on Lesli's State EdWatch blog.
