Earlier this month, leaders from 15 school districts around the country gathered in Washington to meet with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, share their good ideas and the lessons they’ve learned, and celebrate successes in all areas of district management.
The 16 school leaders (two are from the same district), who were featured in Education Week‘s 2013 Leaders to Learn From, discussed technology, leadership, dealing with poverty, working with parents, managing growth and more. A livestream of the event includes Duncan’s keynote and interviews with several of the school leaders.
If you missed the February report and you’re looking for some Monday morning inspiration, these great videos and the interviews in the livestream will give a sense of the work these educators are doing.

There are profiles of all 16 leaders in the annual report. They describe in more detail these leaders’ efforts to create conservation-minded school systems, move kids to school more efficiently, turn around failing schools, and more.
If there are other leaders we should know about, we’re already accepting nominations for our 2014 report. The deadline is June 15.
