If the recent Darwin Day coverage has already exhausted your interest in the famous On the Origin of Species author, perhaps you’d be inclined to pick up Brian Boyd’s On the Origin of Stories instead. In a departure from the ubiquitous evolution versus creationism debate, the literary website The Millions looks at “literary Darwinism,” a strand of academic literary interpretation with interesting implications for why and what we read.

Rosalind Wiseman, the author behind the bullying book that inspired the 2008 hit movie Mean Girls, recently turned her attention to teenage boys with Masterminds and Wingmen: Helping Our Boys Cope with Schoolyard Power, Locker-Room Tests, Girlfriends, and the New Rules of Boy World (Harmony). In an interview with The New Inquiry, Wiseman touches on dignity, drugs, sex education, and how to talk to teenage boys. No word on any comedic Hollywood adaptation this time around, but the interview makes for an engrossing read nonetheless.
