Confused About Where Your State's ESSA Plan Stands? We're Here to Help
With the flurry of news about states' plans for the Every Student Succeeds Act, are you confused about where things actually stand? We're here to help end your confusion.
Over at our detailed state ESSA plan tracker, we've just added a new map that shows the status of each state's plan. There are three categories: one for states that haven't submitted their plans to the U.S. Department of Education yet, one for states that have gotten feedback on their plans from the Education Department, and one for states whose plans have gotten final approval from the feds.
Need a visual of how we're tracking those states? Here you go:
The majority of state plans, 34 of them, haven't been submitted yet—they're due at the department by Sept. 18.
Our ESSA tracker has a lot more detail than just that status update, however. At the preceding link, there are details about how states plan to handle school ratings, testing opt-outs, and a whole lot more.
