Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., who joined a crowded Democratic presidential primary contest on Monday, is an Iraq War veteran whose campaign is likely to revolve around national security.

But he still has an edu-record, of sorts. Moulton signed onto legislation that would call on districts and states to boost education funding and raise teacher pay, expand child care, and increase spending on school infrastructure.

Moulton didn’t say much about education in a video announcing his run. The exceptions: Nods to the opioid crisis and its impact on children, and a shout-out to teachers “marching for fair pay” and kids “fighting for safe schools.”

“Weapons of war have no place in our schools,” he said.
