Future college students can find out the latest in colleges prices—and where tuition has gone up the most—at the U.S. Department of Education’s College and Transparency Center.
New numbers were released Wednesday on the site, which was mandated by the 2008 renewal of the Higher Education Act. It divides institutions into nine categories, such as public four-year colleges, private four-year colleges, and public two-year colleges. Within each group, users can search for the most expensive and least expensive schools based on the published price of tuition and fees, or based on the highest and lowest net price—what students actually pay after grants and aid.
