New Interactive Map Available on State Financial Aid Programs

It can be overwhelming for college-bound students to figure out what financial aid is available because programs vary widely by state.

The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators has launched a free, interactive map for students with information about higher education scholarship programs available through state education agencies and local non-profit organizations. The listings include eligibility criteria, deadlines, and contract information.

NASFAA also has a directory of state and regional tuition discount programs to help prospective students identify ways to save money on college. Many states have regional tuition-break programs that allow residents to attend universities in another state, without having to pay out-of-state tuition.

These new tools, along the federal government's College Navigator and student financial aid website, can be helpful for prospective college students weighing the cost of college along with other factors in the search process.
