Montana Edges Closer to Common-Standards Adoption

Common-standards devotees have had a long, dry stretch. Last summer was chocked full of adoptions of the new standards, and we got to run our pretty little map a lot.

I know you guys are dealing nobly with the withdrawal symptoms, and I commend you. I can't offer a fix at this point, but I do have one tidbit of news: Montana has edged one step closer to adoption.

Denise Juneau, the state superintendent of schools, recommended yesterday that the state board adopt the standards. The board, however, is not expected to make a decision right away. We'll keep you posted.

Since it's been a while, I'm including the map to soothe my common-standards addicts and remind the rest of you where things stand. All but six states have adopted.
