Bubble, Pony, or Lone Star?: Portraits of the Secretary of Education

A month ago, Flypaper asked us to come up with appropriately silly backdrops for Margaret Spellings' portrait, which will be unveiled on December 18th.

All you lame duck Department of Education staffers - here's something to post on the water cooler tomorrow morning. Enjoy.

Definitely the test background for the official Bush Administration NCLB cheerleader.

Maybe put her in a cheerleader's outfit waving pom-poms, LOL!

Definitely bubble... But maybe some ivory soap in there too.

I definitely think backgrounds one and two are better than #3 ... As a teacher and curriculum/instruction specialist I, for one, don't want her associated with my beloved home state any more than necessary.

You've GOT to be kidding. If you think this sort of gratuitous people-bashing is appropriate to post in a supposedly neutral and education-centric magazine, you're not worthy of the name "educator".

Still, since this IS a media outlet and not TRULY a collection of authentic educators, I suppose this sort of sniping is appropriate. Can we get Britney up next week in tights? Maybe Brangelina up with some really cool African-themed backdrops? Give me a break, eduwonkette...let's try to lay off the Bush-bashing for once, hmm?
