Rudy Crew Takes Helm of L.A. High School Partnership
Former Miami-Dade County, Fla., schools superintendent Rudy Crew has temporarily taken the helm of a partnership that aims to improve Los Angeles' Crenshaw High School.
Crew has become the interim executive director of the Greater Crenshaw Educational Partnership, a nonprofit founded by the University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education, the Tom and Ethel Bradley Foundation, and the Los Angeles Urban League. He will work with the partnership's search committee to name a permanent executive director later this year, according to a statement by the organization.
Crew left Miami after four years last September. Since January, he has been a professor of clinical education at USC's Rossier School of Ed, where he is developing leadership for the school's community partnerships and standards for its new ones.
