The Struggle to Diversify Elite Public High Schools

Highly selective public high schools across the country often lack a diverse student population. How can these elite institutions attract more students of color, and create a welcoming environment where all cultures are respected?

Education Week special correspondent Spencer Michels spoke with students and administrators at Lowell High School in San Francisco, Calif., in this report for the PBS NewsHour.
