Afghan Girls’ Robotics Team Takes the World Stage (Video)

After having their visas denied twice, an all-girls team from Afghanistan has made it to the U.S. to compete in an international high school robotics competition. The event, entitled FIRST Global Challenge, promotes STEM fields among students from underrepresented countries, as well as cross-cultural communication and collaboration. In this report for the PBS NewsHour, correspondent Kavitha Cardoza speaks with the Afghan girls, as well as other competitors.
