Can a Civics Lesson Inspire Students to Become Active Citizens? (Video)

How do members of a community affect change? What does it mean to be an active citizen? What actions you can take to change your world?

That’s what these Chicago middle school students were asked to think about during a hands-on civics lesson in Birmingham, Ala., where they met with members of the original Children’s Crusade as part of a year-long study of the Civil Rights Movement.
