Since you’re reading this, you probably realize how crucial parent and family engagement is to outcomes for school students.

Schools that are adept at involving parents in education often find that their efforts pay dividends in student achievement. Yet identifying effective ways to advance engagement that works for everyone can be difficult and frustrating—for educators and administrators on one side, and for parents and caregivers on the other.

Education Week is hosting a one-hour webinar on Thursday, June 21st at 2 p.m. Eastern Time on “Engaging Parents in Schools and Student Learning.” This free online event is designed to help school officials, parents, and others learn more about the challenges that come with parent engagement, and about strategies that can help schools overcome those barriers. You can register here.

Our presenters will be Karen L. Mapp, a lecturer in education at Harvard University, and Steven Sheldon, the director of research at the National Network of Partnership Schools, at Johns Hopkins University. After they share their views on the subject, they will answer questions from our online audience.

Education Week Assistant Editor Sean Cavanagh will moderate the webinar. He recently covered this topic in a comprehensive article, in case you missed it.

Please plan to join our live audience. You can submit your questions in advance. See you online!
