Texas Sen. Ted Cruz doesn’t just talk about school choice when he is on the campaign trail as a Republican presidential candidate. He also has pushed for legislation to support vouchers and charter schools since he was elected to Congress in 2012.

To find out more about Cruz’s stance, Education Week reporter Andrew Ujifusa this week produced a story about Cruz’s record and statements on education, including his strong support for charter schools and vouchers. Cruz has called school choice the nation’s biggest “civil rights issue.”

In addition to the Cruz story, Education Week has been tracking the positions of presidential candidates on education issues throughout the campaign. See profiles of presidential candidates and their positions on key education issues.

Education Week’s Politics K-12 blog also regularly covers education issues tied to the campaign.
