Truancy is a problem all across the country and newspapers are finally drawing attention to the issue. Students are sometimes responsible for getting themselves to school because parents have to leave early for work. I found this to be the biggest problem when students were skipping school. The parents were already on the job and couldn't leave, so the kids had the upper hand. If the parents left work, they risked losing their jobs. Maybe schools should send a little bus after students that skip school on a regular basis.
