Analyzing ELC Scoring
People have been asking me for analysis about the Early Learning Challenge grant announcements. The folks at Early Ed Watch already have some great analysis up here and here. I spent some time over the holidays looking at the applications and score sheets and will be posting some things I found over the next few weeks.
To help folks to their own analysis, I also created this nifty spreadsheet of each state's scores on each subsection of the ELC application. This can be used to identify the states that scored the best on particular sections and shows where states gained and lost points. The first sheet shows each state's score on each selection criterion and competitive priority. Because states could make choices in the focus areas, I made two additional sheets to help people look at and compare those scores: The second sheet calculates focus area scores as a percentage of total points possible for that item given the state's choices, and the third sheet looks at total points in each focus area. Take a look!
