Of course, video games - applied to serious social issues, like education - are also being viewed as vehicles to help improve the learning of both children and adults. Among the more notable proponents: the Federation of American Scientists (http://www.fas.org/main/content.jsp?formAction=325&projectId=13), the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (http://www.seriousgames.org/index2.html), and the MacArthur Foundation (http://www.digitallearning.macfound.org). We even highlight one promising approach currently being used in a Brooklyn after-school program in the Spring 2007 edition of our publication, Threshold (http://www.ciconline.org/thresholdspring07). Of course, the topic easily lends itself to dog bites man sensationalism...
