Objectifying Teachers
In a cross between Van Halen's old video, Hot For Teacher, and the old school rap song called Baby Got Back, Carl's Junior has a somewhat offensive ad out in which two students describe the virtues of flat buns -- burger buns, of course -- while a teacher/stripper writhes on her desk. Probably not suitable for work.

Ads like this show why media literacy education is so important: we need to be able to see how advertising presents cultural messages about values (like beauty and body image) to re-present the social world (in this case, the world of school). When students recognize, analyze and comment upon the blending of humor and fantasy in order to increase burger sales, they increase critical thinking skills.
