Testing Authority

Dr. Homeslice considers the dilemma high school teachers face when they have students who do failing work in class but pass standardized tests.

Comments

I definitely think Dr. Homeslice made the right decision on passing student X. Being that student X was from an urban district, a lot of social issues come into play. There are so many students with brilliant minds but their attitudes stink when it comes to getting their school work done. If they pass standardized tests with flying colors, obviously something is working right in their brains and they deserve a second chance. Who knows what will happen after they graduate from high school, but as a teacher, Dr. Homeslice made a decision and that decision could very well change student X’s life for the better.
