Cyber Police

Dr Pezz strongly feels that schools shouldn’t be policing students’ internet use outside of school, but if students can use the internet in school then they should be taught how to do so responsibly.

i agree that teachers and other faculty are not responsible for what students do on the internet outside of school. i mean, that is the parent's responsibility. it is so tiring having to hear people always trying to blame some sort of misconduct on a student's school or teachers, etc. I don't agree that all sites at a school should be in a student's access. They should block some stuff. By blocking that stuff at school, that are acting just as the student's parents should. They are protecting teh children in their care. we were all teenagers once. how many times did you know what should be done, yet chose to act irresponsibly. too many times to count, I'd say.

i agree. teachers should not be held responsible for what goes on outside of the school on the internet. that is a parent's responsibility. i can't understand why so many people insist on blaming teachers for misbehaving kids. I think making it impossible for students to get to certain web sites at school is great. they have no business being on any myspace page, game network, etc. i knew how to use the internet properly when i was a teenager, but most teenagers do. they just decide not to use it responsibly. that is just the way teen agers are.

i agree. We can not control what the students do outside of school. We can only hope that their parents will. It is not the teachers fault if a student knows how to use the internet, we are becoming a more technical world and it is our job as teachers to keep up with it and the educational purpose of it too.
