Donalyn Miller is a 6th grade language arts teacher in Texas who is said to have a "gift": She can turn even the most reluctant (or, in her words, "dormant") readers into students who can't put their books down. My son is entering 6th grade in the fall. He loves to read, reads very quickly, would rather receive books as gifts than toys and appears to comprehend all the books he reads. Any suggestions to further develop his strength in this area? Would a school book club help?
