Empowering Students Through Peer Teaching (Video)

Shannon Kay and Meredith Sweeney, two 8th grade teachers in Waukesha, Wis., give students a voice in the classroom by using a peer teaching strategy. By having students teach each other key concepts from readings, Kay, an English-language learner specialist, and Sweeney, a humanities teacher, empower students and create opportunities for ELLs to practice their language skills.
