With Supports, Kindergartners Can Use Academic Language (Video)

Elementary teacher Elizabeth Iwaszewicz¬†shows her kindergartners how to differentiate fact from opinion and to support their claims with evidence. Many of Iwaszewicz's students are English-language learners, and she uses language supports—like sentence starters and descriptive charts—to facilitate academic conversation.
