Teacher Choreographs School-Wide Dance Set to 'Uptown Funk'

The official music video for "Uptown Funk," by artist Mark Ronson and featuring Bruno Mars, debuted in November 2014 to widespread acclaim. Two months later, a Dallas teacher and his students show that they have perfected the moves.

Scot Pankey, a theater teacher at A. Maceo New Tech High School, coordinated dozens of students for a dance that took over a vast swath of the school. The video, published this past weekend, has already been widely circulated. Pankey seems astonished by the attention (albeit grateful). Here's the masterpiece:

One commenter on the video captured the sentiments of many: "We need more of this in our schools. Make coming to class fun again. There's nothing like learning in a fun way. Education rocks!!!!" (The more exclamation points, the more true something is.)

Here's the original video from Ronson and Mars, for comparison.
