Sex, Schools, and Videotape
A high school teacher in Paducah, Kentucky, was relieved of her employment after school administrators discovered she appeared in an adult movie more than 10 years ago. Tericka Dye, a science teacher and volleyball coach at Paducah’s Reidland High School, said she deeply regrets having made the film, explaining she was broke and suffering from untreated bipolar disorder at the time. All the same, McCracken County Schools Superintendent Tim Heller told her in a letter that her “presence in the classroom would cause a disruption to the educational process,” particularly for “students who viewed the video or know about it.” (And who doesn’t now?) Not everyone agrees, though. A lawyer hired by the Kentucky Education Association said the termination may be challenged, and some students and parents held an impromptu rally in support of Dye this week. “She’s not the person she was 10 years ago,” said one sympathetic parent. “We’ve all done things that we regret, except hers is on tape.”

i think that what she has done in the past is in the past but i think the authorities should be investigating her teaching ways. she rambles on too much about her personal life and i think thats uneccessary. and she was tryin to make a dress code that was unecessary also. i mean seriously.

It's too bad the administration didn't see her true value: how often do you have a teacher who can explain why "it seemed like a good idea at the time" is a poor excuse.
They could easily turn this around by creating curriculum about this to be taught at the high school level.

Hey people change in time. I dont think i would want my son being taught by her knowing what she has done, more less her own kids see these. It is nasty I dont think i could ever go into the teaching career knowing about all those movies

I have a mental disorder called Bipolar Disorder. I will be starting a class on dealing with Bipolar Disorder, so I may be able to return to part-time work. I believe that a good support network is so important to help cope with this disorder! WBR LeoP
