LearningExpress LLC, EduTone Corp., and Pearson headlined this year’s CODiE award winners, as each took three of the 30 awards doled out Tuesday by the Software & Information Industry Association.

LearningExpress and EduTone each won two of six “supercategory” awards. Alameda, Calif.-based EduTone is the maker of EduTone Xchange, a software that allows administrators, teachers, parents, and students to gain access to all the educational applications they need with a single password, which won awards as the best education administrative and best K-12 education solutions. New York-based LearningExpress’s Job & Career Accelerator, a tool that facilitates and streamlines the job search process, won awards for the best instructional and best postsecondary solutions.

Meanwhile, Pearson, based in London, joined EduTone and LearningExpress by winning in three of 24 regular categories with three different products. It’s a promising indication for Pearson, known as one of the “big three” in educational publishing, along with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and McGraw-Hill, that its recent investments into education technology are being noticed and affirmed by industry insiders.

The 30 winners for the annual awards were selected from a field of 113 finalists after the contest began with 425 entrants.
