Common-Standards Watch: 21 and Counting

Connecticut has adopted the common standards. That makes 21 states so far. (And Connecticut might very well win the speedy notice award: The press release was out by the end of the board meeting.)

A special California commission that’s charged with making recommendations on common standards to the board of education is discussing additions it thinks should be made. (Remember that organizers of the initiative say that states have to adopt 100 percent of the common core, but can add 15 percent to it.)

And, from Wyoming: Those of you who were reading here about that state’s difficulty making a formal announcement of its adoption of the common core might be interested to know that officials there held a press conference yesterday to announce it.)
