Welcome centers at schools with a high number of English-language learners can provide a space for parents to learn how to navigate schools, according to an editorial published this week in El Diario.

Meanwhile, Larry Ferlazzo, a teacher of ELLs at Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, Calif., and a prolific blogger on how to use technology with ELLs, has started a new blog about parent engagement in schools. He plans to come out with a book on the subject this fall.
