Many values are changing rapidly in our new context, and this is especially true in communication. We should be careful as educators not let our own pre-Internet upbringing bias us toward the old.


Today's kids will need to communicate effectively both face-to-face and electronically – and each kid's preferences will be different. But all communication, in whatever form, should include both strong content and strong connection.


Human communication paradigms are changing rapidly, and we need to figure out how to best help our kids communicate well — and to balance technological and face-to-face communication.


If you are a person interested in creating new things, going new places and improving the world, this is probably the best time to be alive. Today's kids are fledglings on the ledge of a new future. Our job is help them leave the aerie and soar.
