U.S. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. focused on civics education in his annual year-end report, saying "we have come to take democracy for granted."


A federal appeals court upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit alleging that Office Depot infringed copyright when it copied Eureka Math at the request of school districts.


The justices will use cases involving teachers who allege employment discrimination to further define the scope of the "ministerial exception" to job-bias laws for religious employers.
