Honoring a “Passion and a Calling”

Anthony Mullen saw children whose lives had gone off course during his time as a New York City police officer.

His decision to become a teacher to reach out to those at-risk young people led him to the White House Tuesday, where he was honored as the 2009 Teacher of the Year. The White House has posted a video of yesterday’s award ceremony.
