I’ll be enjoying the holidays on Friday, so I wanted to offer a free resource a day early.

Earlier this year, the federally-funded Center for Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Special Education, known as CADRE, has released a report that outlines four states that have particularly effective dispute resolution systems.

The report, singles out Iowa, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for noteworthy practice. The CADRE report is written for state special education officials who are looking for ways to modify and improve their own practice. But I am curious to hear from families or educators in those states who have have gone through a dispute resolution process: did it work out well for you?
