Things do not seem to be looking good in Detroit, judging from these recent posts from the president of the teachers’ union, Keith Johnson. Johnson is now waging a war on apparent misinformation about the tentative contract that’s being spread by his own membership.

It all stands a bit in contrast with AFT president Randi Weingarten’s What Matters Most column in this weekend’s New York Times.

If the contract isn’t ratified, Robert Bobb, the emergency financial manager for the district, might be able to impose contract terms through the impasse process. He could even go so far as to declare bankruptcy, which would apparently negate the city’s collective bargaining agreement altogether.
