Obama's Fatherhood Initiative

As a reader points out, Obama's fatherhood program -- the topic of one of my postings yesterday -- extends beyond the black community, as laid out in this Christian Science Monitor article.

Still, when it comes to dealing with the problems boys are having in school, launching fatherhood initiatives amounts to a toe-in-the-water approach. Politically safe, yes. Feel-good politics, yes. Something that will make a dent in the problem? Not likely.
