Newsweek has released its list of the best 1,622 high schools in the United States, based on how hard school staffs work to challenge students with advanced placement college-level courses and tests. The top pick is The School for the Gifted and Talented in Dallas, which has headed the list in four of the past five years.

In addition to the rankings, Newsweek has compiled individual profile pages for each school on the list. Readers can learn more details about each school (including total number of faculty, how the school compares to others in the state, and information about the availability of computers or college counselors), and each page also includes a comments section.
